I know a sweet girl named Emma who has a hard time concentrating at school. She struggles with developmental issues that affect her ability to learn. She is often absent and is falling behind. This is all because she is hungry.
Because she’s hungry … Emma has has a diminished chance of graduating from high school.
Because she’s hungry … Emma has low immunity to common childhood illnesses.
Because she’s hungry … Emma is nearly twice as likely to need counseling for depression or anxiety.
Emma is just one of 22,870 children in Northeast Louisiana who face hunger and the risks associated with it. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “The children are our future.” But what does the future hold for children like Emma?
The sad fact is, hungry children have diminished chances of graduating high school, attending college, and becoming successful adults who contribute to our society.
With your continued support, the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana is giving children a better chance at a brighter future. Your support provides hungry children the food they need to become leaders our country can depend on.
Because they are hungry, children like Emma need your help today. Together, we can solve hunger.
When you donate to the Food Bank, I hope you’ll think of the people you’ll help with your gift!
