At age 89, Rosie lives on a fixed income that makes it hard sometimes to afford the things she needs. She signed up for the Food Bank’s Senior Program, and now receives a box of food every month. Rosie is a bright spot in the lives of our Food Bank team. When we deliver her food, she always has a smile and a positive attitude. “It really has been a blessing to me to get the food box”, said Rosie. “It helps me to get my medicine and other personal things I need.”
When the widespread flooding happened in March of 2016, Rosie’s home took on water. The cost of replacing things that were ruined made it even harder to make ends meet. Rosie didn’t let that put a damper on her mood though, and continued to stay positive and express gratitude for what she has.
When talking about the people who donated to provide the food in the Senior boxes, Rosie said “It makes me feel real good to know that someone is concerned about me… I pray it also makes them feel really good to do that.”
Please consider making a donation today to help us continue to feed seniors like Rosie.
